ORS has a capacity of around 60 million bearings in its 100.000 m2 state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and aims to have a 80 million annual bearing production with recent capacity investments. Research and development is one of the most important issue for ORS. Research and Development activities in ORS was started in 1991 with the projects for improvement of product and process development which are supported by Science and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and European Union (Framework Programme).
Research and Development Center certification was received from the Minister of Science, Industry and Technology in 2009 allowing the Research and Developmentcenter to be established

NSK Ltd. was established in 1916 to take over the business of Nippon Seiko Limited Partnership Company which had been founded in 1914. It commenced business in Osaki-machi, Ebara-gun, Tokyo (now Osaki, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo) as Japan’s first manufacturer of bearings.
